GREG CRUTTWELL
Greg trained as an actor at L.A.M.D.A 1978-1981.
He performed extensively in the theatre, television and on film (Naked, Two Days In The Valley, George Of The Jungle) in the UK and USA between 1981-1997.
He has also been in a doo wop group on the alternative cabaret circuit and a pop group started by Island Records.
He has been a writer (Fringe First Award Winner), director and producer and in 2018 he co-devised TV quiz show, Football Genius, which was broadcast on ITV.
Amongst his list of lesser known credits is Geezer, the pilot for an online sitcom which he wrote, directed and appeared in - Watch Here
In 2002 Greg co-founded production and film finance company Head Gear Films - www.headgearfilms.com
In 2007 he co-founded international film sales company Bankside Films - www.bankside-films.com
In 2019 he founded his own production company Park the Bus -www.parkthebus.uk
To date he has written, directed and produced two films for the company - The Football Monologues - www.thefootballmonologues.co.uk - and Animals, a short film completed in 2023. He's also produced and directed two documentaries - In The Middle - www.inthemiddlefilm.co.uk - and King Of Clubs - www.kingofclubsfilm.co.uk
Greg also founded Balham Football Club (originally called Balham Blazers FC) in 2001. The club started with one Under 10 team but now has 24 squads in different age groups and a direct player pathway from Under 7 to the open age senior First Team, who play semi professionally at Step 5 in the football league ladder.
In 2018 the club made its first appearance in the FA Cup.
Since its formation Balham has won over 550 league and cup trophies, including the London Senior Cup in 2018. It is also a three-time winner of the London F.A. Charter Standard Community Club of the Year Award and a four-time winner of the Wandsworth Sports Club of the Year Award.
Greg has also won many individual awards, including, in 2012, the London F.A. Award for Outstanding Contribution to Football in the Community.
In May 2022, having been at the helm for 21 years, as Chairman, Director of Football and more latterly First Team Manager, Greg stepped back from day to day involvement with “The Blazers” to focus more fully on making drama and documentaries for Park the Bus.
